In a landmark move, BJP National Vice President Baijayant Panda has lauded the India-US trade deal, forecasting it will reframe the economic partnership between two prominent democracies and encourage global stability. Panda addressed the NDA Parliamentary party, emphasizing the deal's potential to positively impact global trade and geopolitics.
Panda enthusiastically congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump on the agreement, which marks a significant diplomatic achievement. During an event at the Parliament Annexe Building, PM Modi received accolades from NDA MPs for his role in securing the deal.
Details revealed by President Trump show the US will cut its reciprocal tariff from 25% to 18%, while India will halt Russian oil purchases, shifting to US and potentially Venezuelan sources. Despite the optimism, Congress demands full disclosure of the deal, voicing concerns on market impacts and the opening of India's agriculture sector to US interests.
