The Police Headquarters in Uttarakhand has announced new security measures to protect court complexes following a spate of bomb threat emails targeted at the judiciary. Officials emphasized the need for strict compliance with these directives to ensure robust and foolproof security at court premises.

Authorities have been instructed to deploy sufficient police and PAC personnel equipped with the necessary security gear across court complexes, highlighting the importance of identity verification at entry points. Additional measures include the installation of barriers for access control and reinforced screening arrangements for individuals visiting the courts.

Given the threat perception from potential terrorist incidents and bomb attacks, district police chiefs are tasked with deploying Quick Response Teams and Anti-Terrorism Squad units, where possible, at court sites. Investigations reveal that some threat emails originated from outside India, with efforts underway involving local and central agencies to trace these sources.
