Himachal Pradesh Minister Chander Kumar expressed limited familiarity with the state's new Governor, Kavinder Gupta, former Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. Gupta's appointment follows Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla's transfer to Telangana, part of a nationwide administrative reshuffle ordered by President Droupadi Murmu ahead of the elections.

Minister Kumar reflected positively on former Governor Shukla's term, mentioning occasional coordination issues with the state on legislative bills. He emphasized the central authority of the BJP government in appointing governors and refrained from extensive commentary on the constitutional role.

Kumar also voiced concerns over delayed relief funds, promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi following a disaster visit. While announcing Rs 1,500 crore, the government has reportedly not received the funds yet. Meetings with the Finance Minister and interactions with Jairam Thakur have yet to yield financial results, adding to the state's discontent.
