The Zefyros tanker sustained a hit by an unidentified projectile while engaged in a ship-to-ship oil transfer with the Safesea Vishnu at Iraq's Umm Qasr anchorage, according to a statement from the vessel's Greece-based manager, Benetech Shipping SA, reported on Thursday.

The incident occurred at 2341 local time on the 11th of March, raising concerns about maritime safety in the region.

All 23 crew members aboard the Zefyros have been safely evacuated to shore, and their well-being has been confirmed. The condition of the tanker is under assessment, as confirmed by the shipping company.
