Mumbai Police Shatters Multi-Lakh Currency Scam

In Mumbai, Bangur Nagar Police unveiled a 7-lakh rupee fraud, arresting two individuals who duped a businessman by falsely promising to transform paper into currency using chemicals. The accused were apprehended in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, with police urging vigilance against such scams.

In a significant breakthrough, the Bangur Nagar Police Station in Mumbai has disrupted a fraudulent operation, arresting two individuals accused of duping a businessman out of Rs. 7 lakhs. The suspects allegedly misled the victim with claims of converting ordinary paper into Indian currency using special chemicals and powders.

The arrested individuals, identified as Pawan alias Prakash Kumar Dilip Prasad, aged 25, and Sar alias Gajsingh Manoj Singh Prasad, 47, enticed the complainant, Lalan Rajkumar Mahto of Goregaon West, to fall for their elaborate ruse. According to police reports, the accused demonstrated their scam by apparently transforming a Rs. 500 note, convincing Mahto to invest a larger sum.

Upon realizing the scam, Mahto filed a complaint with the police, who utilized technical intelligence to track down and capture the accused in Buxar and Ghazipur with local police assistance. Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious of similar scams and report such offers to prevent further victimization.
