In a significant development, a Turkish-owned vessel stranded near Iran has successfully navigated through the Strait of Hormuz. This breakthrough followed Iranian authorities granting necessary permissions, as confirmed by Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu, according to reports from local media.
The minister revealed that ongoing discussions are in place with Iranian officials regarding the remaining 14 Turkish ships yet to be cleared. "Fifteen ships were in the vicinity. Permission was secured for one, which utilized an Iranian port, allowing it to proceed," Uraloglu stated.
The U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran has intensified, leading to a blockade of the crucial waterway, resulting in stranded tankers. This has heightened fears regarding global energy supply, as many vessels await resolution in this geopolitical standoff.
