The Rajasthan government has initiated an ambitious campaign to vaccinate more than two crore cattle against foot-and-mouth disease. This initiative, unveiled by Animal Husbandry Minister Joraram Kumawat, focuses on increasing livestock health and farmers' incomes across the state.
Animal Husbandry Minister Kumawat kicked off the seventh phase of the statewide vaccination drive from the Ramdev Gaushala in Bagru, targeting 2.32 crore cows and buffaloes. The government emphasizes the importance of vaccination to prevent the highly contagious viral disease that affects livestock productivity.
Officials have been directed to execute the drive efficiently, aiming to eradicate the disease by 2030. Continuous monitoring and door-to-door campaigns by the animal husbandry department aim to ensure maximum coverage.
