An unusual protest unfolded in central Bengaluru, where a family allegedly tried to send an elderly man via courier, aiming to protest rising bus fares. The incident, deemed symbolic, took place on Tuesday evening in the Vyalikaval area.
The family approached a courier center to dispatch the man, intending to send a public message about increasing fares on both private and government buses. When the courier staff informed the police, an inquiry unveiled that the event was orchestrated to create a social media reel, said a senior police officer.
The protest took a serious turn when the elderly man inside the sack faced breathing issues. Subsequently, the family apologized, acknowledging the potential danger of their actions. They were warned against such stunts, though no legal action was taken, given their apology and promise to refrain from similar acts, officials reported.
