The call underscored the Strait's strategic relevance and the ongoing diplomatic efforts to manage maritime security.

According to an official release, initiated by Iran, both diplomats deliberated on United Nations discussions concerning the security of navigation in the strait and responses to what was described as U.S. and Israeli hostilities against Iran. The conversation also touched upon multilateral initiatives to reduce regional tension.

Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov remarked publicly that the strait remains accessible to Russian interests, while contrasting actions were discussed in a recent virtual conference led by British Foreign Minister Yvette Cooper, where nearly 40 nations explored strategies to counter Iran's strategic block of this crucial oil corridor.
