Pakistan Announces Major Petrol Price Decrease Following Recent Hike
In response to rising global oil prices due to Middle Eastern conflict, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a reduction of petrol prices by 80 rupees per liter. The government will adjust the petroleum levy to accommodate this decrease, offering relief after a recent price hike.
Pakistan is set to reduce petrol prices by 80 rupees per liter, lowering the cost to 378 rupees, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced late Friday. The price cuts will be facilitated through adjustments in the government's petroleum levy strategy.
This move follows a recent decision to increase consumer prices for both diesel and petrol, attributed to escalating global oil prices driven by ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
With the exchange rate at $1 equal to 278.7000 Pakistani rupees, the reduction intends to alleviate some financial burden on consumers in light of the volatile oil market.
