CBI Challenges Kejriwal's Allegations Against Justice Sharma in High-Profile Bias Case
The CBI opposed AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal's affidavit suggesting bias due to Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma's children serving as government counsel. CBI argues that such claims could disqualify judges from many cases, affecting court functioning. The Delhi High Court has reserved its decision on the recusal plea.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has contested Arvind Kejriwal's allegations of bias against Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma, whose children are Central Government counsel. CBI contends that acknowledging such claims would potentially disqualify judges from handling numerous government-related cases.
In the Delhi High Court, the agency criticized what it described as an 'orchestrated social media campaign' targeting Justice Sharma. This campaign allegedly aims to exert pressure on the judicial bench through selective and misleading circulation of information.
The court received a fresh affidavit from Kejriwal, who argues a conflict of interest due to the empanelment of the judge's children. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta labeled the plea as frivolous, sparking a legal debate on judicial impartiality. The High Court's decision remains pending.
