All eyes are on the election results for five Indian states and union territories set to be declared on May 4. Among them, West Bengal has become a focus, with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami confidently predicting a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) victory. Dhami, reflecting on his campaign experiences, reported widespread discontent among voters toward the incumbent Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) administration.
'The exit polls provide one perspective, but my interactions revealed substantial anger against the TMC,' Dhami remarked, suggesting that a 'double-engine' BJP government is poised to take charge. While the state's cabinet also discussed initiatives to expand beekeeping practices, Dhami's statements underscore the larger political stakes.
In the wake of concluded elections in Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, exit polls paint a volatile picture. The BJP is seen gaining a significant foothold in West Bengal, with various projections suggesting a potential majority amid record-high voter turnout reaching 92.67 per cent.
