Manipur's Call for Peace: Haj Pilgrims to Pray for Harmony

Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh urged 379 Haj pilgrims to pray for peace in the northeastern state as they journey to Saudi Arabia. Emphasizing unity, Singh, who assumed office in February, highlighted peace as vital for development and urged collaborative efforts from various communities.

Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh of Manipur has called on Haj pilgrims from the state to offer their prayers for peace and unity in the region. The 379 pilgrims were selected by the state Haj Committee for the pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

He spoke at the send-off at Imphal airport, expressing his hopes for their safe journey and their role in praying for a peaceful Manipur. On Wednesday, 172 pilgrims traveled to Kolkata, while another group of 207 left on Thursday for their onward journey.

Since February, Singh has engaged with MLAs, officials, and community members to foster peace, which he cited as crucial for development and progress in Manipur.
