Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has taken a firm stance on parents' rights concerning the purchase of school supplies. In a recent announcement, she underscored that parents should not feel compelled to buy uniforms, books, or stationery from a single vendor stipulated by schools. Gupta's statement, made public through a video posted on social media platform X, emphasizes her readiness to inspect any private school in Delhi to verify adherence to these directives.

Schools are mandated to prominently display on notices and online platforms that parents have the liberty to make purchases from their preferred vendors. Gupta has sternly warned that any school engaging in coercive practices or limiting parental choices will face stringent legal repercussions, with the prospect of institutional takeovers in grave instances.

Gupta reiterated that her inspections are conducted with a clear focus on enforcement. These proactive measures are in response to numerous complaints from parents. Furthermore, during a surprise visit to Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital, she evaluated the hospital's operational efficiency, emphasizing the need for reforms in patient management and accessibility.
