Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a state-of-the-art, solar-powered dairy plant in Kargil on Friday, aiming to revolutionize the dairy sector in Ladakh. The 10,000 litres per day facility, accompanied by mobile milk testing labs and modern cooling systems, promises to uplift the region's dairy infrastructure.
Launched under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the initiative highlights a broader effort to modernize Ladakh's dairy industry. The project, supported by grants and funds from national bodies, ensures sustainable operations and strengthens the local economy. The holistic approach includes deploying mobile units for milk collection and digital payment systems, directly benefiting approximately 1,700 farmers.
Strategic partnerships with brands like Mother Dairy and deployment of AI-based monitoring systems guarantee quality standards and transparency. Recognizing farmer efforts and encouraging greater output reflects the ambitious vision for a self-sufficient and progressive Ladakh within the Atmanirbhar Bharat framework.
