Escalation in the Battle for Infrastructure: Ukraine and Russia Trade Strikes
Ukrainian forces attacked an oil terminal in Tuapse, Russia, intensifying the ongoing conflict over key infrastructure. This marks the fourth attack in two weeks on the region's oil facilities. Meanwhile, Russia launched extensive drone attacks on various Ukrainian cities, damaging residential and industrial areas and leaving many without power.
Ukrainian forces have intensified their targeted strikes on essential infrastructure, hitting an oil terminal in the Russian Black Sea city of Tuapse, according to Ukraine's General Staff. This marks the fourth assault on the region's oil infrastructure in just over two weeks as explosions and fire were observed on-site.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, Russian officials reported a Ukrainian drone attack ignited the blaze, though no casualties occurred. Previous hits on the facility were recorded on April 16, 20, and 28. Meanwhile, Russia carried out drone strikes on Ukraine, impacting the western city of Ternopil and leaving industrial sites and neighborhoods without electricity.
In separate Russian strikes, residential and port infrastructure in Odesa were damaged, causing fires and injuries. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported multiple attacks on Ukraine's energy, critical, and civilian infrastructure, citing 210 drone strikes overnight, with 140 identified as ''Shahed'' drones.
