Daytime Blitz: Over 400 Drones Launch from Russia to Ukraine
Russia launched a massive daytime drone attack on Ukraine, involving over 400 drones and resulting in injuries and destruction across the country. Ukrainian air force successfully countered many drones but reported significant damage to infrastructure in various regions.
Russia launched a massive assault on Ukraine with more than 400 drones in a rare daytime attack, injuring 10 people in Ternopil, said Ukrainian officials.
According to Ukraine's air force, Russia deployed 409 drones between 8 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. local time. Of these, 388 were neutralized across the country's north, south, center, and west. The offensive marks a shift from Russia's traditional night-time strikes, with a record-setting barrage occurring on March 24.
Located near the Polish border, Ternopil suffered when industrial and infrastructure facilities were targeted. Meanwhile, central Ukraine's Cherkasy region saw 19 drones shot down, causing significant property damage. In Vinnytsia, another individual was injured, and Odesa witnessed significant damage to a shopping center. Ukrainian drones struck Russia's Black Sea port of Tuapse as well, amid ongoing environmental concerns from the attacks.
