A massive landslide near Gatsoo in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district has disrupted traffic on the vital Doda-Kishtwar road, leading authorities to release a travel advisory. The landslide, occurring early Saturday, has completely blocked this strategic route, with clearance efforts currently in progress but expected to take time.
According to the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police, personnel and heavy machinery have been deployed to clear the debris and restore the passage. Until then, commuters are urged to avoid this road until further notice. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported at the landslide site.
In a separate, tragic event in Jammu's Bantalab area, a bridge collapse resulted in the deaths of three laborers, with rescue teams successfully saving one survivor. Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary expressed sorrow over the incident, which has prompted immediate action, including suspensions and an investigation into the cause.
