Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema announced the state's highest-ever monthly GST collection of Rs 2,987.38 crore, leading the nation in GST revenue growth. This achievement marks a 70.70% rise in net GST year-on-year, attributed to enhanced tax administration and enforcement measures.
In a significant fiscal achievement, Punjab has posted its highest-ever monthly GST collection, reaching Rs 2,987.38 crore, according to Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema. The state leads the nation with an exceptional 70.70% growth in net GST year-on-year.
This impressive increase of Rs 1,129 crore over April 2025's collections highlights Punjab's robust financial health. Official data indicates a 66% rise in post-settlement GST, from Rs 1,795 crore last year to Rs 2,987 crore, marking Punjab as the fastest-growing state in GST revenue.
Despite an abnormal IGST adjustment affecting comparisons, the state still demonstrates a 12.57% adjusted gross growth and a 10.97% adjusted net growth. Cheema attributes this success to rigorous administrative measures and intensified enforcement activities.
