Ukraine Strikes Back: Drones Target Russian Energy Infrastructure
Ukrainian drones attacked Russia's Baltic Sea port of Primorsk, igniting a temporary fire. No oil spill occurred, and the fire was extinguished. The attack is part of Ukraine's broader strategy to target Russian energy infrastructures as peace talks with the US remain stalled.
In a series of strategic assaults, Ukrainian drones targeted the Russian Baltic Sea port of Primorsk, setting it ablaze temporarily, according to local governor Alexander Drozdenko. The attack forms part of a comprehensive Ukrainian operation aimed at crippling Russia's energy outlets amidst stalled peace negotiations.
Drozdenko reported that over 60 drones were neutralized during the overnight onslaught in Russia's northwestern Leningrad region. Critically, the assault did not result in any oil spillage despite hitting Primorsk, a major oil export terminal handling up to a million barrels daily.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy confirmed the targeting of two 'shadow fleet' tankers at the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, emphasizing Ukraine's continued development of long-range strike capabilities across multiple domains. As drone attacks ripple across Russian territories, the conflict shows no sign of abating.
