The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on track to secure a landmark victory in West Bengal, displacing Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) after 15 years in power. BJP MP Raju Bista confirmed the triumph, emphasizing BJP's advance under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership despite Mamata's allegations of election irregularities.
Expressing jubilation over the results, Uttar Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak attributed the win to cultural roots and the blessings of historical figures like Swami Vivekananda and Rabindranath Tagore. Meanwhile, Keshav Prasad Maurya called it a victory of good governance over Mamata's alleged misrule.
However, Banerjee contested the results by claiming discrepancies in the counting process and accused the election officials and central forces of bias. As the BJP crossed the majority mark, the party is poised to lead West Bengal for the first time, marking a significant shift from decades of TMC and Communist rule.
