In a candid response to the recent Keralam assembly election results, Communist Party of India (CPI) leader and Member of Parliament P Sandosh Kumar has admitted to a 'humiliating and embarrassing' defeat. Describing the electoral outcome as a setback, Kumar highlights the need for new leadership within the opposition ranks in a renewed effort to regain political footing.
Kumar, in an interview with ANI, explained that while the election results were disappointing, the Communist movement in Kerala has a storied history of overcoming similar challenges. A high-level committee is set to review the situation and formulate a strategy to propel the party forward, identifying anti-incumbency and mispropaganda as key factors contributing to the loss.
Meanwhile, the Congress party, buoyed by a sweeping victory in the assembly with its United Democratic Front coalition, is poised to form a new government. The appointment of Ajay Maken and Mukul Wasnik as observers indicates a strategic approach to selecting the next Chief Minister as the party consolidates its hold on Keralam's political landscape.
