In the aftermath of the Keralam Assembly election results, the Communist Party of India (CPI) acknowledges a decisive defeat, with State Secretary Binoy Viswam admitting the result surpassed their expectations, prompting the need for comprehensive analysis and strategy revision.
Addressing the media, Viswam stated that the party must conduct serious evaluations at district committee meetings, leading up to a State Council session to map out necessary reforms. He pointed to overlooked undercurrents and specific controversies, such as the Nadapuram candidature, as possible reasons for their lackluster performance.
Highlighting the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) increasing foothold in Kerala, Viswam expressed concern over their electoral gains, urging communist and secular factions to view the situation through a critical lens. Meanwhile, Congress, buoyed by the victory, proceeds with government formation activities, appointing Ajay Maken and Mukul Wasnik as observers to gauge preferences for the Chief Ministerial candidate.
