In a groundbreaking political shift, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has initiated the government formation process in Keralam. This follows their resounding success in the recent assembly elections, where the UDF ousted the ten-year rule of the Left Democratic Front (LDF), capturing 63 seats in the 140-member assembly.

Party sources revealed that senior Congress leaders Ajay Maken and Mukul Wasnik have been appointed as observers to gauge the preferences of newly-elected MLAs for the Chief Ministerial candidate.
