Telangana's Record Paddy Procurement Amidst Political Allegations

Telangana's Civil Supplies Minister, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, addressed the media on Wednesday, declaring that the Congress government is achieving record paddy procurement levels despite facing criticism.

Aim of acquiring 90 lakh metric tonnes shows progress with 17.28 lakh metric tonnes procured so far. Minimum Support Price payments totalling Rs 2,010 crore have been distributed to farmers, according to Reddy.

Amid opposition attacks from BRS and BJP leaders, who claim negligence in the procurement process, the government is tackling challenges from unseasonal rains by operating procurement centres and providing necessary protective measures.
