A wave of panic swept through parts of Shimla after authorities discovered a poster warning of a bomb threat against the local Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office and court in Rohru. The alarming message was spotted along Bharari Road, leading to swift action by district police.
The Additional Superintendent of Police in Shimla, Mehar Panwar, confirmed the police's immediate response, which included evacuating the targeted sites as a precaution. All nearby vehicles were cleared, and a substantial police presence was established. Despite no suspicious objects being found, investigations remain intense and ongoing, utilizing CCTV footage and other collected evidence.
In an effort to ensure citizen safety, police have cordoned off the affected area and regulated road access. Education Minister Rohit Thakur implored the public to stay calm, reiterating that citizen safety is paramount and urging people to ignore unfounded rumors. The Shimla Police have also made an appeal for public cooperation by maintaining peace and not spreading unverified information.
