German police respond to hostage-taking at bank branch, statement says

German police on Friday they were responding to a hostage-taking at a savings bank branch in the western town of Sinzig in the regional state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
In a statement, authorities said extensive police operations were ongoing after the incident was reported in the town centre at 0700 GMT.
