Paint shop gutted in fire in Kozhikode; loss estimated at Rs 1.5 crore
A major fire broke out at a paint shop near here on Sunday, Fire and Rescue Services officials said. A team from the Meenchanda station rushed to the spot and initiated firefighting operations, officials said. Subsequently, a team from the Beach Fire Station also joined the operation.

A major fire broke out at a paint shop near here on Sunday, Fire and Rescue Services officials said. The fire occurred at Indian Associates, a paint shop owned by Ashraf of Mannur at Ramanattukara. According to officials, the blaze was reported to the Meenchanda Fire Station shortly after 1 pm. A team from the Meenchanda station rushed to the spot and initiated firefighting operations, officials said. Subsequently, a team from the Beach Fire Station also joined the operation. Officials said the fire was brought under control after more than two hours of firefighting efforts. Three fire units from the Meenchanda station and one unit from the Beach station were deployed at the scene. The shop owner said the fire caused losses estimated at more than Rs 1.5 crore. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, officials added.
