In a major crackdown, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested five individuals accused of involvement in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. The arrests were made following extensive searches across several locations in the country, as the agency investigates alleged irregularities in the exam process.

The case, registered on May 12 and based on a complaint from the Ministry of Education, includes charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating, and corruption. The suspects hail from Jaipur, Gurugram, and Nashik, with more individuals under examination. Several electronic devices and incriminating materials have been seized during the operation.

Meanwhile, the exam conducted on May 3 has been officially cancelled due to integrity concerns. The Federation of All India Medical Association has moved to the Supreme Court, citing systemic failure by the National Testing Agency.
