Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced on Wednesday that the state government has launched new guidelines focused on petrol and diesel conservation, following a national call by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to manage resources more effectively.
Addressing the press, Sharma highlighted that all state officials and public representatives would curtail the unnecessary use of vehicles. The Chief Minister further declared a personal commitment to minimizing the number of vehicles in his convoy as a part of the initiative. He urged similar actions from other officials and public figures.
This strategic move aligns with PM Modi's broader appeal for energy conservation amid increasing global fuel supply concerns. Modi emphasized the need for reduced oil consumption, advocating for home-based work, Swadeshi products, and a move towards natural farming, illustrating a multifaceted approach to reducing India's dependence on imports.
