Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam's Joint General Secretary, CTR Nirmal Kumar, voiced concerns on Friday regarding the structure and functionality of Tamil Nadu's legislative assembly. He urged for a more inclusive governance model to better represent young people and women in the state's decision-making processes.
Addressing media representatives, Kumar raised questions about the assembly's current composition and the extent of autonomy provided to government officials. He acknowledged the Tamil Nadu government's swift actions to address public health and safety concerns, noting steps taken against state-run liquor shops and illegal substance circulations.
Chief Minister Vijay's administration has prioritized public expectations with decisive measures. The government announced the closure of 717 TASMAC liquor outlets, aligning with safety norms, and committed monthly financial assistance to women. Vijay described his leadership as aimed at fostering social justice and equal opportunity, securing a notable electoral win for TVK.
