A recent report by global job site Indeed highlights the profound influence caregiving responsibilities have on women's career decisions in India. According to the findings, 83 percent of respondents have skipped applying for certain roles due to the challenges of balancing work with family duties.

The report, which surveyed over 1,100 women including working mothers and those on a career break, reveals that flexibility in work hours and the option for hybrid or remote work are top priorities. This shift shows a significant number of women willing to accept lower pay for greater work-life balance.

Indeed India Managing Director Sashi Kumar emphasizes the importance of employers offering genuine flexibility to attract and retain women. With full-time office mandates cited as major deterrents, the study underscores the need for clear, practical job descriptions and attendance flexibility.
