Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma took a symbolic ride in an electric vehicle bus on Saturday, emphasizing the state’s commitment to fuel conservation in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal. This move comes as part of a broader effort amid the ongoing West Asia Conflict to reduce dependency on oil.
Addressing a press gathering in Jaipur, Sharma announced new state guidelines aimed at minimizing the use of petrol and diesel. He highlighted the positive influence of the Prime Minister's national calls to action, noting Rajasthan’s proactive stance in embracing these initiatives.
The government plans to slash fuel consumption by curbing excessive use of official vehicles. Sharma pledged to downsize his convoy and urged all state officials and representatives to follow suit. Additionally, he recommended curtailing the frequency of public programs as part of these energy conservation efforts.
