The demand for milk and dairy products from indigenous cows bred in Uttar Pradesh -- rich in protein and calcium, and considered beneficial for fitness and nutritional needs -- has increased in the Army, an official statement issued here on Friday said.
Premium dairy goods produced in the state are also being supplied in major metropolises such as Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, it said, adding that the milk from indigenous Uttar Pradesh-bred cows is reaching customers nationwide through platforms like Amazon.
Mukesh Meshram, Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry, said unprecedented efforts are afoot to preserve advanced indigenous cattle breeds.
The statement lauded the efforts of engineer SN Dwivedi, a resident of Prayagraj, saying he has achieved a remarkable feat by combining employment with protection and service to cows, creating a new model of economic prosperity in Noida.
Milk from indigenous breeds is considered helpful in boosting immunity, providing energy, and strengthening muscles. Due to modern processing techniques, confidence in its quality and purity has grown both among the Army and consumers.
Due to its high protein content and premium quality, demand for indigenous cow milk is continuously rising among health-conscious and fitness-oriented consumers, the statement said.
The state government said, for the first time in Uttar Pradesh, a scientific system for milk production and processing has been developed using advanced dairy technologies from Iceland and Denmark.
The milk is produced in a completely hygienic environment to preserve its nutritional value and quality.
Through expanding cowsheds, modern dairy technologies, and online marketing, the state's indigenous cow-based model has earned national recognition, the statement said.
