CBSE Denies On-Screen Marking System Compromise Rumors

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has strongly denied allegations regarding the compromise of its On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, clarifying that the URL involved in rumors is merely a testing site. The board assures robust safety measures within the actual platform used for evaluations.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially dismissed claims suggesting that its On-Screen Marking (OSM) system has been compromised. In a statement released on Tuesday, the board clarified that a URL circulating online is unrelated to the official evaluation portal used for processing answer books.

The CBSE's statement responded to a social media post alleging a breach of the OSM system. It stated, "The portal used for the evaluation of answer-books bears a different URL, which has neither been compromised nor does it present any vulnerabilities." The URL being discussed is a testing site filled with sample data and does not hold actual evaluation information.

Reaffirming its commitment to security, the board highlighted the transparency initiatives and feedback mechanisms of its evaluation system. As part of its post-result support services, the Board has processed over 11 lakh answer book requests, demonstrating the system's extensive use. The Union Education Minister has also involved IIT experts to ensure the system's efficacy.
