Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and State IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu have taken a significant step toward enhancing rural connectivity. In a recent video conference with Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia, they discussed challenges in developing the state's fibre network and sought central assistance for the initiative.

As part of this ambitious plan, the Telangana government will establish a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to construct a robust T-Fibre network. The network's first phase will target the erstwhile districts of Nizamabad, Ranga Reddy, and Khammam, aiming to restore digital connectivity in 3,089 villages. This endeavor falls under the Amended BharatNet Program, striving for equitable digital access across the state.

During the meeting, discussions highlighted the urgency of finalizing implementation agreements, accelerating fund releases, and solidifying the T-Fibre project framework. Chief Minister Reddy emphasized the importance of seamless network operations, with uninterrupted services along alternative paths, even in case of disruptions. This strategic initiative promises to lay the foundation for a 'Digital Telangana', providing rural regions with reliable, high-speed broadband access.
