In a significant development, the Pune City Police have lodged an FIR against Subodh Runwal, Managing Director of the Runwal Group, and six associates, as compelled by a court directive. The allegations revolve around a contentious land dispute situated in Pune's Viman Nagar area.
The legal action, initiated under the instructions of Judicial Magistrate First Class Dr. D.R. Dornalpalle, cites violations under sections 111, 318(2), 329(3), and 336(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The conflict traces back to a 3.93-hectare plot near Pune International Airport, allegedly acquired by the late Satish Satyanarayan Mittal.
According to the complaint, Mittal's Wonder Properties held development rights on the land, partnering with Runwal Developers in 2007. The dispute arose following Mittal's demise, with allegations of illegal documentation to transfer rights. The case was propelled by a prior Supreme Court guideline mandating FIR registration upon disclosure of cognisable offenses.
