Tripura CM Lobbies for Development Boost at North Eastern Council Session

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has made a strong case for the acceleration of significant development projects in his state during the 73rd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council in Shillong. Speaking in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other notable leaders, Saha emphasized several key demands.
Among the priorities highlighted were the operationalisation of direct Agartala-Chittagong flights, pushing forward the Badarpur-Sabroom double-line railway project, and advocating for a 40% rebate in natural gas prices. Additionally, CM Saha called for the establishment of an IT Park and a substantial increase in funding under the ‘Pride of Hills’ scheme to aid Tripura’s rapid development.
The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to commend the socio-economic strides achieved in the past years, citing a doubling of the Gross State Domestic Product and significant investment inflows. Health infrastructure improvements and strategic connectivity projects were underscored as pivotal to sustaining the state’s upward trajectory.
