Swaminathan Janakiraman Re-Appointed as RBI Deputy Governor for Two More Years

The Central Government has confirmed the re-appointment of Swaminathan Janakiraman as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for another two years, effective from June 26. This announcement was made on Friday through an official statement from the RBI.
Originally appointed on June 20, 2023, Janakiraman began his term as Deputy Governor, stepping in for MK Jain, who retired on June 21, 2023. His initial appointment was intended for three years, subject to further decisions from the Department of Personnel and Training.
With Janakiraman's re-appointment, the RBI continues with its established leadership team, which includes four Deputy Governors in total. The move ensures continuity in the central bank's governance and operational strategies. (ANI)
