The Commission for Air Quality Management's Enforcement Task Force recently held its 132nd meeting, addressing air quality violations in the National Capital Region. Over the 19-day period leading up to the meeting, CAQM's Flying Squads conducted 245 inspections, resulting in 87 reported violations across various sectors.

These inspections targeted Construction & Demolition sites, industries, and Diesel Generator sets, resulting in proposals for 11 unit closures and the sealing of 33 DG sets. Additionally, 19 enforcement directives were issued, while Environmental Compensation was considered in 13 cases. Resumption orders followed compliance verifications across multiple states.

Inspections by local bodies like the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority and the Municipal Corporation of Ghaziabad were scrutinized, uncovering numerous dust mitigation violations. The Task Force emphasized the need for prompt compliance verification, backed by photographic evidence, to ensure effective action against air quality offenders.
