In a shocking turn of events, Hardoi Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sushil Kumar Mishra was injured during an inspection of flood relief measures. According to officials, the alarming incident occurred in Pariyal village under Shahbad tehsil when the SDM was attacked by stone-pelting villagers.
Reports reveal that the altercation began when the son of the village Pradhan allegedly misbehaved with the SDM. As the situation escalated, agitated villagers gathered and, in a final act of aggression, attacked Mishra's vehicle, causing a head injury that required stitches. District Magistrate Anunaya Jha confirmed that legal actions are being pursued against those responsible.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, officials reported a police encounter in June that resulted in the death of Kamlesh Bind, an accused in the murder of a hotel owner's son in Ghazipur. The encounter injured SOG-in-charge Rohit Mishra, while another suspect, Shankar Pandey, remains at large amid ongoing search efforts.
