The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is accelerating bridge construction along the vital Rajouri-Kalakote-Reasi-Katra-Jammu corridor. This initiative aims to enhance regional connectivity and create local job opportunities, according to Sunil Kumar, a project associate. Kumar disclosed that a diversion route is being constructed to maintain traffic flow while full-scale excavation for the main structure is set to begin soon.
Kumar emphasized the project's economic benefits, mentioning that it currently provides employment to 100-150 local workers. This boost is expected to aid regional economic growth substantially. Improvements in road infrastructure are also contributing to increased tourism, offering further livelihood opportunities for the local population.
In a related development, BRO restored connectivity at Vikramshila Setu in Bihar, achieving this under its 'One Mission: 20 Days, Four Bridges' initiative. Within just 20 days, the organization successfully launched four Bailey bridges, ensuring uninterrupted traffic flow. The completion was hailed as a demonstration of dedication and engineering skill, bringing significant relief to local communities.
