In a shocking incident, a woman was found murdered inside a room of an under-construction house in Kanakagiri, Koppal district, on the night of June 8. Police revealed that the accused attempted to destroy evidence by setting the body on fire.

A case was promptly registered at the Kanakagiri Police Station after Sanganegowda Malipatil filed a complaint. The police launched a special investigation team under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police to solve the case efficiently.

The team identified the deceased as the wife of Dimmulappa Nayak, from Karatagi in Gangavathi taluk. She was reportedly in a relationship with a younger man, who allegedly murdered her following a quarrel and tried to dispose of her body using a blanket. The police have seized crucial evidence, including the blanket used in the crime, and charged the accused under multiple sections, including the SC/ST (PoA) Act, 1989.
