BJP leader and Telangana High Court advocate Karuna Sagar raised serious allegations on Monday against the Trinamool Congress (TMC), highlighting a significant political shift. He asserted that the decision by 20 TMC MPs to part ways with the Mamata Banerjee-led party and align themselves with the Nationalist Citizens Party of India suggests increasing dissent within the TMC ranks.
Sagar interpreted this development as a sign of a growing crisis, with TMC members losing confidence in their party's leadership and operations. Speaking on the situation, he urged for the constitutional and legal aspects of this political realignment to be carefully scrutinized to ensure compliance with anti-defection laws.
The BJP leader called for a clear explanation from the TMC leadership to provide transparency to the citizens of West Bengal. Meanwhile, the defector MPs have met with both Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, demanding recognition and a distinct seating arrangement in the House following their move to the NCPI.
