Kedarnath Yatra: Pilgrims Advised Caution as Monsoon Intensifies

Rudraprayag District Magistrate Vishal Mishra has issued a warning to devotees as monsoon activity intensifies across the Kedarnath region. Since the pilgrimage began on April 22, more than 1.2 million pilgrims have visited, necessitating increased vigilance for their safety.
With the rainy season in full swing, Mishra advised pilgrims to exercise caution and highlighted the availability of health center services. He urged those with medical conditions to bring their medications and recommended carrying raincoats amidst the monsoon showers. Cleanliness along the trekking routes and the avoidance of plastics are also stressed by the administration.
In anticipation of landslides and rockfalls, the administration has fortified its safety measures on the Kedarnath Highway and trekking paths. Surveillance efforts have been intensified and disaster response teams are on high alert. Collaboration with national and state disaster forces ensures readiness. Officials, including Chief Minister and Disaster Management Minister, personally oversee the arrangements, reinforcing safety for the pilgrims.
