The African Development Bank, in collaboration with the Rwandan Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire and the Rwandan community in Côte d’Ivoire, will host a ceremony to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the genocide against the Tutsis in Rwanda. The event will be held at the Babacar Ndiaye Auditorium in the African Development Bank Headquarters on April 11thfrom 12:00 – 1:30 pm GMT. This year’s commemoration theme is “Remember-Unite-Renew”.
In 1994, over a period of three months, one of the deadliest massacres in human history began in Rwanda, claiming the lives of a million people. The commemoration event will be an opportunity to remember the victims of the genocide, reflect and renew our commitment to “never again” allow such atrocities.
The event will also celebrate the resilience of the Rwandan people and their determination to create a more prosperous future together.
