Sudan under legal obligation to hand over Darfur violence suspects: ICC
- Country:
- Sudan
Fatou Bensouda, Internation Criminal Court's chief prosecutor, has reiterated that warrants issued in relation to Darfur violence remain in place and Sudan is under a legal obligation to hand over the suspects to ICC for trial.
Bensouda, however, added that if Sudan can assure to ICC judges that it can "genuinely" prosecute these suspects, it can go ahead without ICC trial.
