Derek O'Brien recalls childhood trauma of sexual molestation

Derek O'Brien recalled his childhood trauma of sexual molestation in Rajya Sabha today as the house was passing Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2019. He said the incident occured when he was 13 years old. He boarded a crowded bus after tennis practice and was wearing short pants & t-shirt when it occured.

He further added he spoke about it to his parents much later in life. He emphasized that this forum should be used to reach out to people so that more people talk about it and the more children can be saved.
