A Taliban delegation of eight members, led by Mullah Baradar left for Indonesia on Friday morning to hold peace talks, according to local media reports. The delegation will reportedly meet Indonesian officials to discuss issues centered around peace in Afghanistan.

The Taliban also held a peace talk session with the Afghan delegates in Doha earlier this month. The dialogue termed as the intra-Afghan dialogue and sponsored by Qatar and Germany, between Afghan politicians, civil society members, including women, and the Taliban was seen as a substantive step towards peace in Afghanistan.

The two-day peace talks, attended by Afghan delegates and Taliban representatives ended with both sides agreeing on a 'road map for peace' and calling to reduce civilian casualties to "zero". But the violence in the war-torn country has not reduced even after the peace talks between Taliban and Afghan representatives or US representatives.
