Motorbike bomb explodes in Khost leaving two dead, 17 injured - report

A motorbike bomb has exploded in Khost province of Afghanistan on Saturday, according to local media organization Ariana News. The bomb was reportedly targeted on the Khost Protection Force (KPF) campaign force. The security forces have been reported to confirm that the attack has left causalities behind, mostly civilians.

A woman and a child are being reported to have died in the blast while 17 others are wounded.
The incident has come as the Presidential electoral campaign in Afghanistan is about to begin in the next few hours will continue until September 25 three days before the date of the election on September 28.
Earlier today local media reported that 13 Taliban members, including some top key commanders, were killed in Paktika province in an operation by National Directorate of Security (NDS) Special Forces. Qari Khalid, Taliban's military chief for Sharan, Sanaullah alias Obaida, the intelligence chief of Taliban for Sharan, Qari Ghairat, top Taliban commander leading a group of 32 militants were reported to be among the deceased.
